The Weizmann Institute of Science

The Weizmann Institute of Science is one of major research and graduate study centres in Israel. For a formal introduction to the Institute and the scope of its activities, go to the official homepage of the WIS.

The Weizmann Institute is located in the city of Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv. Rehovot is a not-so-small (by Israeli standards) residential city, which has no industry but boasts at least two significant research/education centres: the WIS and the Faculty of Agriculture, Hebrew University.

The Institute campus is very beautiful, it has a lot of trees and flowers. Some buildings are new, but some remain from Institute's early days. The Department of Mathematics now resides in the Ziskind building, one of the oldest and nicest on campus. At the Department and at the Institue as a whole, one enjoys a good, scientific, international atmosphere. Here are some our pictures from the Institute campus.
