Rehovot

1 - On the Faculty of Agriculture campus (37 Kb) 2 - On the Weizmann Institute campus (24 Kb) Rehovot is a city in the central part of Israel, 24 km south of Tel Aviv. It was founded in 1890.

Probably one of the most significant things about Rehovot today is that the Weizmann Institute of Science is located here. Another important research and educational centre in Rehovot is Faculty of Agriculture, Hebrew University. The two campuses form a very nice northern part of the city.

Some time ago Rehovot hardly had any industry and was mostly a residential city. Now a large hi-tech industrial park is being built north to the Rehovot train station, a fifteen minute walk from the Weizmann Institute, on the border between Rehovot and town of Ness Ziona. Besides production plants and offices, a few popular restaurants are located there.

You can go from Rehovot to Tel Aviv by train, it is a pleasant half-hour journey.
